WBFF Pro Diva Daniela Laura Interviews With Ultraphysiques
Stage Weight: 130 lbs.
Off Season: 145 lbs.
How did you get started with bodybuilding/Living the Fitness lifestyle?
After giving birth to my first child I noticed a big change in my body. I decided to start weight training to regain my youthful body. Over the first few years, as I learned more about weight training and dieting I fell in love with the process.
Where does your motivation come from?
My initial motivation came from seeing many of my friends that followed the lifestyle which made me push myself to improve. Now I am motivated from seeing the results of my efforts which pushed me harder to stay dedicated to my diet and to exercise as hard on possible with the goal of improving on each workout.
What workout routine has worked best for you?
In season I do cardio on a daily basis and increase to two cardio sessions during the last 90 days of preparation for a show. I find that I get the best results from following a training schedule which includes three days of training followed by one day of rest and by training two body parts per session.
Monday: Intense leg and glute training
Tuesday: Shoulders and biceps
Wednesday: Back, triceps and abs
Friday: Intense leg and glute training
Saturday: Shoulders and biceps
Sunday: Back, triceps and abs.
If you had to pick only 3 exercises, what would they be and why?
Squats which allow for the most intense training of my legs; Deadlift which allows me to focus on muscle growth in my hamstings and shaping of my glutes; Lateral shoulder raises which allow me to shape my shoulders and upper arms.
What is your diet like?
My diet consists of mainly protein with good fats and some carbs. I eat a variety of foods which change on a monthly basis directly related to my physique goals at that time.
Intense dieting with the lowering of carbs and fats and increase in protein begins 90 days prior to a show.
When trying to cut down do you prefer to use HIIT or just normal cardio?
I use HIIT with cardio sessions twice a day.
What is your supplementation like?
I use basic vitamins (multi-vitamins, vitamin C and D), BCAA, protein powder and occasionally fat burners and pre-workout.
If you can dream it, you can achieve it.
