How did you get started with bodybuilding/Living the Fitness lifestyle?

I’ve always been into fitness. I started lifting around the age of 13 or 14
when I started high school. I went to Edward R Murrow and as part of
our PE program I always chose weight training. Since then it stuck with
me. My interest with bodybuilding came about 3 or 4yrs ago just
browsing instagram and searching the web for new fitness ventures. I
kind of thought why not. My health had finally given me a rest so It
was now or never. I kind of wish I knew about this industry sooner but I
do believe everything happens for a reason and there is a right or
wrong time for everything. I enjoy working out and performing on
stage in front of an audience has never been a problem for me, having
a dance and cheerleading background. November 2014 is when I
competed in my first NPC show as a Bikini Competitor and haven’t
back since.

Where does your motivation come from?

My motivation comes from me. Giving 100% to everything that I do and
pushing myself to be the best that I could drives me. Next would have to be
my sister and my circle of close nit friends that I can literally count on one
hand. I’m human so of course I have my good and bad days, when I do
have those days those individuals are my sanity, my support. With out
them I wouldn’t have gotten this far. I always say whenever this industry
doesn’t make me happy, it’s time to move on. Last my motivation comes
from this industry. Seeing the comradery between athletes is very
inspiring. It is truly a fitness family.

What workout routine has worked best for you?

I change it up time to time depending on how I feel at the start of the
week. But I genuinely like to hit two muscle groups a day. I train heavy
unless I have a show approaching then I do high reps low weight. I try
to get cardio in 5-6 times a week usually fasted for about 45min-
60min. If I don’t do fasted cardio I will do a 20-25min HIIT in the
afternoon after training. I hit core at 3-4 times a week and what day
honestly depends on my mood and how much time I have left.
Monday:  Legs
Tuesday:  Cardio/ Shoulders and triceps
Wednesday: Cardio/ Back and biceps
Thursday: Cardio/Glutes and Hammies
Friday: Cardio/ Chest and Light shoulder
Saturday: Cardio/ Legs (plyos and light weight) depending on how sore legs are I will alternate weekly with full body
Sunday: Cardio if I’m completely shattered then REST DAY!

If you had to pick only 3 exercises, what would they be and why?

Standing Lateral Rasie: I love a good shoulder pump and I feeling it the most with this exercise plus there are so many variations of it.
Reverse Hack Squat: I hate training my lower body becuase its the most stubborn. With this exercise I feel I hit majority of the muscles in my legs and glutes
Floor Crunches: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

What is your diet like?

I used to do diet the old school way but I’ve found a bit more flexibility with tracking my macros on my fitness pal. When trying to cut down do you prefer to use HIIT or just
normal cardio?
Cardio! my worst enemy. I usually prefer steady state which usually works well for me. But sometimes I will plateau and so to shock my body i’ll do a couple days in a row of a HIIT then it’s back to steady state or a combination of both.

What is your supplementation like?

  • L Carnitine
  • Fish oil
  • GNC Vitapak which includes my CLA and Multivitamin intake
  • Probiotics
  • BCAA
Prepping for a show, I’ll add:
  • Dandelion Root
  • Fat Burner (only if I feel like my body needs that extra boost)
  • XPel (a week in a half before show day)
